Family Movie Afternoon: Wicked

This event will take place in person at Great Kills Library. This film is rated PG and the run-time is two hours and forty minutes. We will begin the movie at exactly 2:15 PM to account for the length of the film and library hours of operation.

“Wicked” is a popular musical and two-part movie, based on the book “Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West” by Gregory Maguire. The musical tells the story of Elphaba (who becomes the Wicked Witch of the West) and her unlikely friendship with Glinda (who becomes Glinda the Good) before and after Dorothy Gale arrives in Oz. The story explores themes of prejudice, acceptance, and the complexities of good and evil.
